Elbert County Posse
 

Elbert County Posse Inc., formerly known as The Elbert County Sheriff's Posse Inc., is an organized group of concerned citizens who volunteer their time to the community. The Posse's mission is to assist our fellow citizens through our time, resources, and organization. The Posse has been in existence for over 60 years as a part of the sheriff's office but today, the Posse is no longer a part of the sheriff's office so that they can assist other organizations in Elbert county including the local Police departments as a stand alone organization certified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 C 3 not-for-profit corporation. The Posse is called on by all police chiefs in the county to assist with community events, parades, or major school functions.
